He auditioned for "Idol" again in Atlanta, Georgia the next weekend and became a finalist. Lucky for all his fans, Clay liked singing better than driving!

Clay's nickname is "Gonzo". When he was working at a YMCA children's camp, they began calling Clay Gonzo and the nickname stuck.
