Mandy Moore Biography

Mandy Moore was born Amanda Leigh Moore on the 10th April 1984 in Nashua, New Hampshire. Her mother Stacey is a former newspaper reporter and her father Don is a pilot for American Airlines. Mandy has two brothers, Scott and Kyle. She was raised in Altamonte Springs, Florida, moving there shortly after her birth due to her father's job. She was raised in Catholic religion and attended Bishop Moore High School in Orlando, as well as Lake Brantley High School in Altamonte Springs. As a teenager she came to fame in the year 2000, after the release of her teen-oriented pop albums

In 2002, Mandy entered the world of acting, when she landed a role in A Walk to Remember. She then later appeared in lead roles in other movies that were also aimed at teenage audiences. Mandy's personal life has been much discussed in the media with her relationships with tennis player Andy Roddick and actors Wilmer Valderrama and Zach Braff.

Many then went on to tour with the Backstreet Boys throughout 1999 and her first album So Real was released in December of that year and reached number thirty-one in the U.S. Billboard 200 album chart. Mandy was reviewed, at the time of the album's release, as being the latest in a series of heavily-marketed female singers described as pop princesses, similar to Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson, and Britney Spears.

Mandy Moore then went on to release I Wanna Be with You in May 2000, which was a reworked version of her debut album. The title track I Wanna Be with You featured on the soundtrack of the film Center State (2000).

In 2001 Mandy Moore then released the self-title album Mandy Moore. The album debuted at number thirty-five on the Billboard 200 and was later certified gold in the U.S. and sold 443,000 copies.

Mandy released her fourth album Coverage in October 2003. This album consisted of covers of 1970s and 1980s songs that influenced Mandy as a child. Coverage peaked at number fourteen on the Billboard 200, which was her highest ranking to date. It was then that Sony's Epic Records dropped Mandy Moore after low sales of Coverage. However, the Mandy Moore biography continues.

Mandy Moore has also undertaken many roles in acting, as well as being a Neutrogena spokeswoman, appearing in commercials and print ads for the product. She has also modeled for Penshoppe in the Philippines, Coach handbags in Japan, and was a spokesperson for the School and Youth Programs of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

It has to be said in the Mandy Moore biography that her favorite musicians are Elton John, Switchfoot and Bette Midler. Bette Midler is also her favorite actress. Bette's film Beaches was Mandy's favorite film when she was a teenager. Mandy also states that she does not know how to cook, but aims to take cooking classes.
